Evaluation 6 and 7

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learnt many things from using the technologies in media. I used a variety of equiptment to help make my photos the best they could possibly be. For example, the basic equiptment i used in producing my photos was the camera. The camera was a samsung digital camera which helped me produce a high definition image and helped my work appear to be high standard.

The next piece of equiptment I used was the lighting equiptment. This helped add an effect to my pictures to light up a certain area and helped me produce a more high definition image that also made my pictures very high standard.  

There were also many programs that I used in my work to help produce it. For example, I used Photoshop 7.0 to help me add text and other effects to my work. This also allowed me to produce my music magazine as I made my front cover, contents page and double page spread through this program. I alos used this to make my prelim task and this helped me learn about how to use photoshop and alos why Photoshop is useful for its effects.

I also used Flickr to produce my media product as it allowed me to analyse my work and produce a brief summary of the different areas of My music magazine as well as other magazines. This allowed me to analyse my Front cover, contents page and double page spread and it was also useful as I could upload my work onto Flickr in order for it to be seen by other people.

I also used Blogger as this allowed me to upload my work and aloow it to be seen by other people who are also doing media as well as allowing it to be seen by teachers. This gave me the opportunity to gain feedback from both students and teachers and learn on where I can improve on my work and make my work seem better.

One more piece of technology I used was Slide share. This allowed me to put my powerpoint work onto my blogger and show it to teachers and students. This also allowed me to gain feedback and improve on my work that I have produced.

Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

From the prelim task, I have learnt many things in order to produce a better media product as well as many other things.

For example, I have learnt how to use photoshop more effectively to produce a better media product. The use of photoshop that I did for my prelim task was very simple and I did not use a range of techniques to help make the magazine of a better quality. However, as I began to work on my music magazine, my knowledge of how to use programs such as photoshop has allowed me to produce better media products.

The prelim task was very basic as i used in it a simple icture with a simple font on the name of the magazine and also, the advertisements on the magazine are very simple and only explain part of the magazine. Also, I included conventions on the prelim task such as the barcode and the price of the magazine. As I moved onto the magazine there are many similarities but there are many differences. For example, i have included the barcode and price again but I have also included more in terms of subtitles and also more things such as competitions.
